Once St. Johns County receives a new allocation of COVID-19 vaccines, a registration system will be launched for residents to make an appointment to receive a first dose of the vaccine. Those who receive the initial dose will be provided with a follow-up appointment to receive their second dose at a later date. Frank Butler Park East Temporary Closure for Park Improvements – Frank Butler Park East, including the beach walkover, horseback riding beach access, and the parking lot, will be closed for park improvements beginning Monday, February 1. Phase one improvements will include additional parking spaces, parking lot surface improvements, beach walkover improvements, and new landscaping. The park and all beach access is scheduled to reopen in March. Flagler Health +/St. John County COVID-19 Testing Site – Flagler Health +, in partnership with St. Johns County, is offering COVID-19 testing between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at the St. Johns County Agricultural Center, 3111 Agricultural Center Dr.

Operated by Telescope Health, the site provides PCR COVID-19 tests, rapid COVID-19 tests, and COVID-19 antibody tests. Insured test recipients are required to pay a draw fee of $52 for a PCR test, $129 for a rapid test, and $52 for an antibody test, and insurance will be billed for the remaining balance. Uninsured St. Johns County residents may receive a PCR test at no charge upon registration with Flagler Health + Care Connect and must pre-register by calling 904.819.3035. In addition, uninsured residents may also pay $129 out of pocket for the rapid test and $100 out of pocket for the antibody test.

Rapid test results are typically available within four to six hours. PCR and antibody test results are available within 48 hours on average but may take longer depending on regional testing conditions. State Surgeon General Announces Florida Residency Requirement for COVID-19 Vaccinations – The Florida State Surgeon General issued a Public Health Advisory on January 21, 2021, that prioritizes Florida residents for COVID-19 vaccinations. As a result, to receive the COVID-19 vaccination from St. Johns County, recipients must be able to demonstrate Florida residency, as defined in Florida Statute 381.986(5)(b), or be an individual present in Florida for the purpose of providing healthcare with direct patient contact. In addition, you must have an appointment, and be 65 years of age or older or a healthcare worker with direct patient contact. Residents receiving the COVID-19 vaccination must bring a valid Florida driver license or state ID. Individuals with an out-of-state ID should provide proof of residency or semi-permanent residency with the following:

  • A deed, mortgage, monthly mortgage statement, or residential rental or lease agreement
  • A utility bill or a utility hookup/work order dated within 60 days before the date of the vaccination appointment
  • Mail from a financial institution or federal, state, county, municipal government agency, not more than two months old

Non-residents currently residing in Florida with the purpose of providing healthcare with direct patient contact must provide proof of employment. Out-of-state individuals who received the vaccine through the St. Johns County Vaccination Program prior to January 28, 2021, will have their second dose appointment honored. St. Johns County Partners with Department of Health to Expand COVID-19 Vaccination Program Beginning Monday, January 4 – St. Johns County has partnered with the Department of Health to more efficiently and effectively administer COVID-19 vaccinations through an expanded program.

Beginning Monday, January 4, all vaccinations will be administered by appointment only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Solomon Calhoun Community Center, 1300 Duval Street. Vaccinations will no longer be administered by the Department of Health at the Health and Human Services Building and the program will no longer be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those without an appointment will not receive a vaccination, and will be required to return in the future once an appointment has been made. The remainder of St. Johns County's limited initial vaccine allotment will be allocated to those on the waiting list compiled by the Department of Health while St. Johns County awaits a second vaccine shipment from the State of Florida.

Once St. Johns County receives a new allocation of COVID-19 vaccines, a registration system will be launched for residents to make an appointment to receive a first dose of the vaccine. Those who receive the initial dose will be provided with a follow-up appointment to receive their second dose at a later date. Second doses will be administered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the same location. St. Johns County and Flagler Health+ COVID-19 Partnership Transitioning from Testing to Vaccine Distribution Planning – In preparation for COVID-19 vaccine distribution, St. Johns County and Flagler Health+ are transitioning the COVID-19 response operations from testing to planning and vaccine delivery. As a result, the COVID-19 testing site at Flagler Health+ will conclude all COVID-19 tests at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30. COVID-19 testing remains available at Flagler Health+ outpatient laboratories with a physician order, CareFast+ locations, and a variety of other private locations throughout St. Johns County. Per the State of Florida, the initial phase of vaccine availability is allocated to healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents. As additional vaccines become available, St. Johns County Emergency Management and Flagler Health+ will work closely with the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Department of Emergency Management, and local healthcare providers to expedite distribution to additional populations in accordance with CDC, federal, and State guidelines. Bartram Trail Branch Library Temporary Closure – The Bartram Trail Branch Library will be temporarily closed beginning March 8 for a roof replacement project. The project is scheduled to be complete in approximately seven weeks and the facility is scheduled to reopen to the public in April. Beginning March 16, a curbside service library annex will be open for patrons to pick up requested items from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, at 725 Flora Branch Blvd. The annex will remain open for the duration of the Bartram Trail closure. Returned items will not be accepted at the annex, however; no items previously checked out from the Bartram Trail Branch Library, or checked out from the annex will be due. Frank Butler Park East Temporary Closure for Park Improvements – Frank Butler Park East, including the beach walkover, horseback riding beach access, and the parking lot, will be closed for park improvements beginning Monday, February 1. Phase one improvements will include additional parking spaces, parking lot surface improvements, beach walkover improvements, and new landscaping. The park and all beach access is scheduled to reopen in March. Phase two of the improvement project, scheduled for a date to be confirmed, will include renovating the bathrooms, adding ADA parking spaces, and sidewalks. West Pope Road Sidewalk ConstructionSt. Johns County is constructing a sidewalk on West Pope Road beginning January 2021. Temporary single-lane closures may occur throughout the project. For more information, please call 904.209.0142.
